Critical Problem: Acronis OS Selector cannot find the necessary configuration files
Some background on my problem:
I had a Windows Vista 64 OS installed on a 500GB Hard disk (200GB free) and wanted to install a Windows 7 OS in a different partition just for trial. I was looking for a tool to do that and came to the conclusion that Acronis Disk Director 11 Suite would fulfill my needs, but I wanted to try out the demo version before buying it. So, after installing the demo version of ADD11, I installed OS Selector and everything was working flawlessly. My next step was to create a second partition on my 500GB. So I made use of the resizing option on ADD11 in order to shrink the existing partition containing the Vista 64 OS to 350GB, and create a second partition with the remaining space (150GB). After committing the changes, I was asked to restart my machine and everything was fine and right after my machine booted up, the partitioning steps started in a DOS-like screen. After a while, everything completed successfully and my machine booted up again and this was when the whole problem started.
Instead of seeing the OS Selector screen I used to see, I only had an error message: "Acronis OS Selector cannot find the necessary configuration files. Please re-install Acronis OS Selector". But how was I supposed to re-install Acronis OS Selector if the ADD11 was installed in my Vista 64 OS and I no longer had access to it???? After doing some research on Google, I found this thread (http://forum.acronis.com/forum/5425) with instructions to fix the Boot Configuration Data, but unfortunately it didn't work for me. When I executed the command "Bootrec.exe /RebuildBcd" I got a message saying that no OS was found on any disks. By the way, on step 5 (Click the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next), I was able to see my Vista 64 OS as one of the options, but the weird thing was that it was saying that it was present in a 0MB partition. Another information. From the Command Prompt I executed the Bootrec command, I tried to access the drive letter my Vista 64 OS is installed and I got an error message saying that the drive cannot be accessed.
I don't know what else to do!!!
Can someone, please, help me on that???? Thanks in advance.

Did you create an Entire Disk Image backup of the drive before you made the changes? This is strongly recommended. I assume you didn't or you would have already restored it.
Can you post a screenshot of what DD shows for the drive? You will probably have to use a digital camera.
Is the Vista partition the booting partition? Is the correct partition set Active?
From what you describe, it's likely that the partition is corrupted. You may want to try running some file recovery programs on it and see if they find anything. Most can be run in trial mode so you can see if you get results before buying.

First of all, thanks for your comments, MudCrab!!
Unfortunately I didn't create an Entire Disk Image backup. I thought that the re-partitioning tasks were pretty safe. There was no message even suggesting that to be done before start of activities. I know that we always have to be safe than sorry, but....
I also cannot post any screenshots of my drive reflecting the moment after the whole problem happened because I have been trying so many things and a screenshot right now would not be accurate.
I'm not even able to obtain the partition details you're asking for (booting, active, etc), as it's corrupted and no information can be retrieved.
Btw, I have acquired a recovery software (Active Boot Disk 5 Plus 2010) that can be booted from a flash-drive and I'm trying to salvage my files.
Even though I might be able to recover my files, I have to say that I'm very very disappointed with ADD11, which seemed to be a very promising tool. If everything worked as I was expecting, I would definitely purchase the full license.... Not anymore though.

As a general rule, it's usually best to do procedures that require a reboot directly from the DD CD instead of in Windows. It's also usually best to do complex procedures one step at a time so you can verify successful completion of each one.
I hope you have success in recovering your files.

This won't help you solve your problem but, you mention you did this with the trial version of DD11. I'm surprised you got this far as the trial version is supposed to only allow actions on partitions of less than 100MB.
Having said that, it has just struck me that if your Vista install formatted the drive then you would have had a 100MB reserved partition and xGB boot/C:\ partition. It might be the only thing that OSS/DD11 has played with is this small reserved partition, in which case your data woud hopefully be safe.
