DD 11 will not delete Volumes on SSD

I have tried both from the HDD installation and the Bootable CD- no joy. The SSD has two recognized drives ("x" and "y")and when I go to delete the drives/volumes so I can have all unallocated space, it says it is doing it after I click "commit" and it takes a long time but when it is done the drives/volumes remain.

The SSD is on a USB drive but DD does recognize it and the two drives/volumes.

Why won't DD delete the volumes. They show healthy and no errors.
