DD bootable media sees one HD as "super floppy"?

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I have three hard disk drives in my system. One has the Primary partition with a bootable MBR.

The other two disks are identical (same size and model) but one is shown as "basic MBR" and the other is shown as "super floppy". I do not see the option of changing the "super floppy" drive to a "basic MBR" drive. I wish to use both of the other drives for backups.

I have seen in posts where this issue can be caused by Acronis DD not having the drivers for a particular DD. This can not be the case here because the drives are identical.

I don't have the option of running DD in windows because it interferes with GRUB and I am OK with running the bootable media disk.

Thank You
Tom

It's possible the MBR is corrupted or missing on the drive. See this KB article for details. Note that cleaning the drive will delete any existing partitions.
