DD11 Going out of support

Thread needs solution

Just received an e-mail regarding DD11 going out of support. I already have an upgrade to DD12 so I went to the Acronis product page to see what was there. I noticed that there was an update to DD12, the last version I downloaded was #3270 - yes some time back but I only use it on rare occasions. I see the release this time is #96? So some questions.
1) Do I need to worry about upgrading to 12.5 right now?
2) Can you explain the sudden change in the version numbering #3270 to #96?
3) What are the differences between #3270 and #96
Thanks

Hello RayG,

thank you for your posting!

1. The main improvements offered in Acronis Disk Director 12.5 are

  • Support for 4K native disks
  • Updated Linux kernel in bootable media
  • Support for the latest Windows ADK versions for WinPE media: ADK 1703, 1803, 1809

I'd check the Release notes for 12.5 https://www.acronis.com/en-eu/support/updates/changes.html?p=41699 and then decide if the offered new features and fixes are worth upgrading.

2. It is just the internal build numbering, no special meaning for the users

3. #96 is a minor update with security improvements. It doesn't include any fixes or new features and is available for download on the website only.  Here you can find the release notes https://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/updates/changes.html?p=29692
