DD11 - Unable to resize partition

Thread needs solution

Hallo,

I have a hard disk - installed is Windows XP Home Edition SP3 - with three partitions: C:, D: and E: with size 25GB, 70GB and 80GB. I tried to resize/decrease D: to 40GB and the unallocated space I wanted to assign to C: by increasing C: from 25 GB to 65 GB. I did this with Acronis bootmedia and Disk Director 11 Home Build 2343, but there were reported an errror during increasing partition C:. I don't remember the exact error message, but computer was rebooted and now partition D: is decreasing as expected and partition C: has increased to 65 GB by looking to computer administration -> data medium administration, but with windows explorer the old size for total space of drive C: is reported with only 25 GB and the free space with only 3,6 GB and not with 43,6 GB as expected.
I tried to repeat the action "change volume size" for partition C with installed Disk Director (not with boot media) and there I got after reboot and executing DD in boot mode again an error message as displayed in uploaded image "2013-02-25_20.09.29.jpg":
Code 0000000000360191 ......
Suberror:
Text: Fdisk-Aktion fehlgeschlagen / fdisk action failed
Code: .......
....
Suberror:
Text: Unable to resize partition with bad blocks
Code:.......

I tried two time to make a "chkdsk /F /R" on volume C: and after this, again I started the action "change volume size" on partition C with DD 11, but again I got the same error message. And after reboot - Windows is starting - again size of volume C: is wrong reported by explorer. How can I fix this error?

Hallo,

could solve the problem by using the very, very old PowerQuest PartitionMagic 8.0 (installed on floppy disk with MS-DOS). I resized first system volume C: to lower size and than I resized to wanted size. All ok now, but Acronis is - as ever experienced - a buggy software.
