DD11's OSS keeps adding "Windows 8 Pro with Media Center (recovered)" entry after booting Windows 7
Recently DD11's OSS keeps adding a "Windows 8 Pro with Media Center (recovered)" entry after booting Windows 7.
The Boot/BCD and bootmgr files used by this OSS entry appear in the BOOTWIZ folder on the (hidden) 100 MB "System Reserved" partition. Even if I remove the subfolder containing them (using Ubuntu linux) they get recreated (with a new random ID for the subfolder name) after booting Windows 7 again.
Next I tried copying the Windows 7 version of those files (from a separate subfolder; again using Ubuntu), but OSS still adds them as "Windows 8 Pro with Media Center (recovered)"...
How can I finally get rid of this entry? (What files should I look for and remove?)

Yes, hiding indeed "solves" this.
However, being a bit of a perfectionist I'd rather have a real solution instead of this workaround, so I also tried finding a BCD file/entry causing this issue. Unfortunately I was unable to find that. But having inspected the reserved system partition I was now pretty sure I could restore an Acronis True Image backup of only this partition to remove the problem and still be able to boot my system. This turned out to be true. OSS now detected an extra Windows 7 system, but this did not return after I removed it.
So my problem seems solved (for now?).
Thank you for your help!

I would also like to have a real solution and have repeatedly told this to Acronis. Feel free to PM an Acronis Moderator or otherwise contact Acronis to fix OSS. This bug/problem is only one of many.

Unfortunately Acronis does not want to help me if bugs only appear after the first 30 days after purchase (unless I pay them for what I'm already entitled to according to European laws).
Thus contacting them makes little sense for longtime loyal customers.
(I might no longer be loyal; I probably won't upgrade anymore because of that policy).

It's more of a feedback issue. They release the software knowing the bugs are there. If enough users complain about the problems they're more likely to fix them in a later build. You don't have to have active suppor to send a PM to a moderator. They can forward to the correct department.
That being said, I haven't heard a peep from them about any updates so I'm not expecting any in the near future.
