DD12 wont recognize Windows 10 drives in Bootable media mode

Thread needs solution

Using the most current DD12 (12.0.3270)  and TI2017.  Created a bootable disc with DD12 and TI.  Bootable version ofd DD12 launches fine but shows no drives on a Windows 10 system.  First steps to troubeshooting?

One drive is standard hard drive, the other is an SSD (non hybrid).  Neither appear.

Now its paid support?  Wow.

Hello Todd,

There might be RAID mode turned on in the BIOS settings (even if you have not configured any RAID), which causes problems with disks recognition. If it is enabled, switch the mode to AHCI, save changes and see if Disk Director then sees the disks correctly.

If that does not help or disks are already working in AHCI mode, the issue must be caused by the Linux OS in our media lacking drivers for your thechipset/disks controller. In that case WinPE-based media should help you because of its wider hardware support and possible customization (you can inject custom drivers during media creation):

1) install the latest Windows 10 ADK. When asked about the components to install, choose WinPE and Deployment tools only

2) launch the media builder in Acronis Disk Director and select Windows PE in the "Bootable media type" drop-down list. Mark "Create x64 media", click Next, add drivers for your chipset/disk controller and proceed with the media creation.

Note that the created media will contain only Disk Director. Acronis does not officially support multi-product WinPE medias, but there are instructions on this forum on how to create a WinPE-based media with both Acronis True Image and Disk Director on it.

Technical support for Acronis Disk Director 12 beyond the 30-days period after the purchase is paid, yes.

Technical support for Acronis True Image 2017 is provided for free for the entire duration of the subscription period (subscription-based licenses) or during the two years after the purchase (one-time purchases).
