Disk Director 11 cycles infinitely or stalls after committing

Thread needs solution

When I "commit" an action on my Western Digital Black HD - regardless of the action - it says "Loading" under pending operations and "Processing" at the bottom of the pop up. The circle of death continues spinning. I've left it like this for 10/15 mins for something simple as changing the drive letter. It never progresses forward. I can "cancel" the action.

DD11 used to work on this system, suddenly it's not.
(Of note, I tried EasePartition; it cycled after committing as well - it became stuck at "locking the drive".)

---------Backstory---------
DD11 and Win7 are installed on my 128GB SSD (which worked fine before today).

A while back I formatted my C drive. Reinstalled Windows and DD11. Used DD11 to set up partitions, no problems.

Recently installed a 256 GB SSD (Crucial M4 - same brand/model as the one I've had in there for almost a year, except it's 128 Gb).

Haven't attempted to use DD11 for a while after putting in the SSD and do not recall any other changes to the system.

I tried disabling anti-virus SW to see if it were blocking the action, but it didn't work.

I did recently attach an Anker 7 port USB 3.0 port to the computer.
