Disk Director 12 - Copy or Leave NT Signature?

Thread needs solution

Windows 7...Want to move OS from HDD to SSD...
Want SSD to become boot drive and to reuse HDD in same PC once SSD boot functionality confirmed.
Understand need for NT MBR on boot drive but unclear on difference between Copy and Leave NT signature setting.
I get that if I copy the NT signature, I'll have to remove the HDD.
If I leave the NT signature, is a new one created on the SSD with the registry appropriately updated?
Will the SSD be bootable?
Will I be able to leave the HDD in the machine and reformat it once I'm comfortable the SSD is ok?

Hello Michael,

sorry for the delayed answer.

If you select to leave NT signature (not to copy the signature from the original disk), Acronis Disk Director will update the registry accordingly and you new SSD will be bootable. More information on disk signature you can find in the following article by Marc Russinovich.

Thank you.
