Disk Director cant find my USB drives (flash drives)

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I have a trial version of Disk director. It does not detect my USB drives. Any idea what the problem could be?

Thanks
NM

Is it when running DD in Windows?

What build of DD are you using?

Has any special/non-standard formatting been applied to the flashdrives?

I have the same problem with DD Version 9 with my USB CF card reader.
Does'nt DD support USB drives?

Dirk

I have just tried inserting the oldest USB drive I have, a 256MB memory stick as it was known to me then! Using DD10, build 2239, XP SP3, it can see the drive no problem. My PC is eight(y) years old too but does have USB2.

I can say no more or try anything older or different.
Edit :- I'm a liar! I found my sd/microsd usb card reader and plugged my 4GB camera flash card in it and DD10 can see it

Can I ask when you got DD9 because for one I'm being lazy and can't be bothered to find when DD10 was released, and I seem to have had DD10 for quite a long time!?

Nilima, I'm sorry if I didn't appear to be addressing the problem you have but I was just pointing out what I used which may or not help. Mudcabs questions are very valid.

I have also used a 16GB usb flash drive without problems too and a 40GB external HDD which is formatted as NTFS but is actually supposed to be an internal HDD for a laptop.

So are you using a flash drive or an external Hard Disk Drive?
