Disk Director causing Print Spooler problems

Thread needs solution

I've discovered that if I use Disk Director (latest version, fully up to date), once I start doing a recovery of a backup or disk image, my Print Spooler starts to crash and I lose all of my printers.

The only fix I have found is to remove the print drivers from the System32\Spool folder and the manually re-add them.

I've done extensive testing this week since I found this problem again and can definatelyt say that it is only happening once I have tried to do a data recovery or disk repair as the printers have been continually available at all other times until I start using Disk Director.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit with all latest available updates installed.

I had this same problem a couple of weeks ago and thought Windows had somehow got corrupted so I did a complete fresh install onto a new, blank hard disk and rebuilt my entire system - at the time I didn't twig that it was only since I'd used Disk Director. Since then the printers and everything have all been fine until I used DD on Monday and the problem came back.

Has anyone else had this problem as its understandably rather frustrating!

Are you sure this is about Disk Director and not about True Image as you are referring to 'restoring a backup or disk-image' ?
