Disk Director stopped working after update True Image (17750).

Thread needs solution

Acronis True Image (17750) installed today. Since then Disk Director 12 no longer works, no longer starts up. Disabling antivirus during installation also does not work.

First DD12 installed and then True Image 2019 does not help either. However, True Image works.

How can I get Disk Director working again?

I can only suggest a cleanup of both applications (linked below in my signature), reboot and then start with DD12 and then top off with ATI 2019 again - hopefully the cleanup tool will do the trick to get it all back on track.  I'm running DD12.5 and the new version of ATI 2019 that came out yesterday and seems to be OK, so not sure about DD12 possibly having an issue with it, or not.

The biggest issue I've seen in the forums regarding upgrades is something getting botched in the automated download to the %temp% directory when upgraded through the application.  In most cases, if you delete the %temp% folder (which seems to download incorrectly at times) and instead, download the products from your account login it works better.  Also, make sure to right-click and select "run as administrator" (even if logged in as an admin already) on the installer .exe (if you ever have a .msi instead, launch command prompt as admin and launch the .msi from that command prompt window to ensure it has the highest elevated privileges) and the upgrades tend to go pretty smooth.

DD 12.0 got working again after complete uninstallation. DD 12.0 and ATI 2019 removed with RevoUnistallerPro, WiseDiskCleaner. Then registry remains removed with CCleaner and Wise Registry Cleaner. And finally installed DD 12.0 as administrator again. DD 12.0 tested and working again. Once again True Image 2019 installed and both DD 12.0 and ATI 2019 work as they should.

I still have the 12.0 version from Disk Director because I think the 12.5 version is only intended for business users.

Can I still download and activate the 12.5 version with the key for the 12.0 version?

If so, where can I download the installation file for DD 12.5?

Acronis Disk Director 12.5 is a new upgrade for both business and home Acronis Disk Director editions, you'll need an upgrade key to activate this version.
