Disk image is showing as GPT disk

Thread needs solution

Hi Guys

I'm trying to restore an image taken from a raid 5 array that includes the windows7 partition as well as the data partition.

The issue is that the image shows that the disk was a gpt dynamic disk rather than a basic mbr.

To restore this image to a new raid5 array would I need to setup the disk as GPT dynamic first or would it be better to restore the backup and then covert the disk to gpt dynamic using disk director 11?

I hope this makes sence?

R.

Hello Rikki,

Thank you for posting. I will certainly help you.

From my experience there is no need to convert anything before a restore. If I understood your situation correctly, simply perform a restore and I am certain that you will be good to go.

If you run into any issues please let me know what programs you are using and create a few screenshots from the program and Windows disk management window.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
