Disk-Signatur / NT Signatur - Does the Disk Director BOOT-CD destroy them?

Thread needs solution

Hello guys, I have a question please - just to be sure:

I have 1 harddisc inside my PC.

My intention is to clone this harddisc "monthly" to another harddisc using the DD11-BOOT-CD.

The target harddisc is only connected to my PC during the time when I'm working with the DD11-BOOT-CD.

OK, we all know that it is not allowed to have 2 harddiscs with identical signatures inside the PC (else one of them will lose his boot-ability).

So the question is: Is this just a problem for Win (7), or is it also a problem for the DD11-BOOT-CD ?
---> So does the DD11-BOOT-CD "destroy" one of my harddiscs?
---> Do I have to prepare the target harddisc every time to get rid of his signature?

Regards
Joe

Joe:

It is Windows that changes one of two disks having identical Disk Signatures, not the PC. The boot CD runs Linux. So you should be okay, providing that you do not boot Windows with two disks having identical signatures attached.
