Dual Boot with XP & Windows 7

Thread needs solution

I have a problem. I used Disk Director to setup a dual boot system with Windows XP on one partition and Windows 7 on main drive C. I decided to delete windows XP from the partition it was on so that I didn't have to select which operating system to boot to each time I started up. I did it improperly! I formated the partition that contained windows XP. Then I started Disk Director (in windows 7) to resize the partitions. After I was finished I couldn't reboot my system without the Acronis OS selector screen coming up and then instead of choosing the OS to boot too, a window said that it wasn't properly installed and my computer shuts down without booting.
I've been able to boot by pressing F6 when the Acronis OS selection starts. How can I delete the Acronis OS system from the boot menu so that my computer boots directly to windows 7?

If you have a standard Microsoft OEM or retail Windows 7 DVD, you can boot to it and do a boot repair. More specific instructions can be provided if you need them.

If you have included the OSS programs on your DD CD, you should be able to boot to it, select OSS Setup, and then uninstall OSS.
