Error message when updating Disk Director 12

Thread needs solution

I have been trying to update Disk Director 12 from Release 3223 to Release 3270:

The program installation begins normally, but stops with the error message:

An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT,typ=win32",version=8.0.50727.619+5,publicKeyToken=1fc8b3b9a1e3b",processorArchitecture=amd64
. Please refer to Help and Support for more information.

I have no idea what this means. I have applied this update to another installation without any difficulty. I have multiple licenses, and the base program appears to work. When I get that error message, the update rolls back.

I have rebooted the machine, and tried again, but got the same results. I stopped the background Acronis services in another attempt, but it had no effect.

Does anyone know what this means, and how to get around it?

Thanks for whatever help you may be able to provide.

Hello ENAR,

Thank you for your posting! I'd suggest taking a read of the following articles that describe the most common causes of the error and troubleshooting steps:

Thank you,

Trying to update tp build 3270 so ADD 12 will get my HD size correct. (Right now only sees 2 TB out of 5.)  Get error message "E00640003", can't find any documentation as to how to resolve.  Running Win 10 Pro 64, this happens on both PC and laptop.

Hi Paul,

try to remove the currently installed DD via Control Panel and install DD12 from scratch.

If it doesn't work you have to cleanup the %temp% folder and start installing DD12 again.
