Expanding C, dont see all size?

I have win XP and 30gb disk wich was partitioned on C 8gb and D the rest size in win setup when installed XP. I used later acronis program in win XP to merge this two partitions together, so the program restarted and merget two partitions together, but now in windows shows me that in disk management i see c partition 30gb, but explorer, my computer and all other programs still show that the c partition is still 8gb? Why?

Most likely because the file system size didn't get updated correctly. Usually, you just need to do another little resize to fix it. For example, resize the partition just a bit smaller, apply the change, resize back to the full size, apply the change.
