Merge operation failed.
"Disk write error. Run check disk"
Running check disk does not solve the problem.

If you created an Entire Disk Image backup before doing the Merge, I would restore it. Otherwise, recovering from a failed Merge procedure is usually not possible. In most cases both partitions end up scrambled and corrupted.

What exactly were you trying to do? It may help to know the steps you took.

Did the partitions actually merge?

Is the resulting partition formatted?

Is any type of normal access available to allow you to copy off any files?
