hard disk partioning: how to expand volumes

Thread needs solution

Our RAID set (Mirror) was exchanged - the old disks had 500 GB capacity, the new ones have 2 TB.
Nevertheless only 500 GB are at disposal, the remaining disk space is not recognized. What is to do ?

If your RAID configuration software/firmware doesn't allow you to resize the RAID safely and retain the existing partition(s), you would need to rebuild the RAID using all the space and then restore your partitions.

Probably you are right, as I found a related advice in the knowledge base of Acronis True Image. Here the procedure is described like this:
1) make a backup of the whole drive 2) exchange hard disks 3) reboot with bootable media of Acronis 4) restore disk from backup, which allows automatic expansion of volumes
But this was described for Image Home Version 10 (meanwhile 12 (?)) and I do not have a bootable CD, because I have installed a download version; that is to say, that the procedure to build a bootable CD is not so quite easy (I have meanwhile read the manual, how to make a bootable medium).
Thank you for answering !

You can also download the ISO file from your Acronis account and use that to create the CD.
