Help: An internal error has occured, check the event log for more information.

Thread needs solution

The operating system of my computer is Windows XP SP3, then I wanted to resize Partition C and allocate the free space to Partition D, when click "Commit pending operations", it said that some of my operations needed to reboot my computer, but , when I continue, an error message appears at the window said "An internal error has occured, check the event log for more information."

I checked the event log, it said that MMSBundle.dll failed to commit the requested operation because reboot agent cannot be activated. At first I thought it was some services were not open but I can't find which excactly is, then I turned off my Antivirus software because it might blocked the operation, at last I chkdsk my all partitions with no error on them, but the problem were not solved after that.

It only happens on the operations which should reboot computer, for some unknown reason, in my other computers, this problem doesn't happen, they rebooted and resized partition correctly. But there are so many people facing this problem and since language gap there has no solution to me yet... Please help and thank you very much if you can answer me !!!!!!

Quite a few errors like this have been posted. I don't think there's been a solution yet, though.

Can you successfully complete the procedure using the DD CD?

Note: It's recommended to create an Entire Disk Image backup before making partitioning changes.

Same here, error log below. There's a KB article (http://kb.acronis.com/content/15376) that says the problem has been fixed, but it's still happening with the latest 2121 build. It's not a big deal for me since I usually boot straight into Disk Director via GRUB, but still.

EDIT: Never mind. The KB article links to a newer build 2304 that fixes the problem. For some reason the "Registered Products" page still shows 2121 as the latest.

Hello i kyo, MudCrab and Quatrix,

Thank you for posting and thank you for your kind help MudCrab.

i kyo and Quatrix, I will do my best to assist you.

i kyo, unfortunately at the moment it is not clear why this issue occurs. I would really appreciate if you could collect this report and contact our Support team and I am certain that we will get to the bottom of the problem. As a workaround, please try MudCrab's suggestion to perform the operations from the bootable media.

Quatrix, the newer build mentioned in this KB article was created to address this specific issue. Currently, the main build is still 2121 and we do not have any information at the moment if the fix will be included in the upcoming build. Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

if you do more than one operation in Disk Director 11 Build 2121 LiveCD WinPE Edition, it will call the reboot agent, its annoying, why do it want me to reboot when am using the LiveCD

as far as i remember Disk Director 10 LiveCD never had this problem

FYI: adding drivers dont seem to work for me, when i try to add NEC 3.0 drivers, i doesnt seem to load the drivers
