Help with manual uninstall
Acronis:
I've been a long time fan of your software. I recently had a conflict with a trial version of Disk Director and and existing install of my True Image Home 11 (not 2011).
Anyway I was doing some cleaning up yesterday and tried to uninstall all my Acronis products for some unrelated reasons. This caused my XP Pro PC to get a BSOD. Fortunately, I had just made an image of the failed system drive. Restored it and got things back to where they were. Thank goodness.
So I wanted to get everything uninstalled, then get the current versions and get them loaded
Turns out getting them uninstalled was harder than I expected. I thought I only had True Image Home 11 installed. But Control Panel Add-Remove showed Disk director 10 as well. I followed the instructions in this thread: http://forum.acronis.com/forum/6998#comment-16995
Downloaded the 2 Microsoft programs and installed. Downloaded your cleaner, and ran it.
It identified that I must have tried other versions, it listed them and said do I want to uninstall. I said yes, followed the prompts appropriately, rebooted etc.
After all of that Disk Director 10 remains in Add-remove programs. If I try an uninstall there, It works on it a little then errors out with "Fatal Error during installation".
This is what got me to blue screen land in the first place.
I tried to re-run the cleaner, it still shows all the products I guess I've ever tried in the list of things to uninstall. So I'm not sure if they have remnants or not.
I'm comfortable in the registry, and starting/stopping services. Can you tell me how to manually check that all is removed, and how to get Disk Director out of add-remove programs?
Thanks,
Scott

Thanks. I'll check those reg entries. But M$ has removed access to the cleanup utility. Citing issues users had with it hosing the rest of the software that took updates. I had downloaded it anyway because the Acronis cleanup utility said is was required. Hopefully it didn't hurt anything.
