Is the original partition still the same size as it was (no new partition was created), but now it's empty?

Do you have a backup image of the drive? If so, that would most likely be the quickest and easiest way to return to the previous state.

Otherwise, you're probably looking a using data recovery software. Make sure you don't let any programs write to the drive as any data that could be saved may get destroyed.

Which partition were you trying to Split?

How much data was in the partition (size in GB's)?

Are you trying to recover the data or do you just want a partition turned into two partitions?

If there's not any data on the F: partition that you need to try to recover, I would recommend that you try doing the split manually instead of using the Split function of DD.

For example:

  1. Resize the F: partition smaller. Apply the change.
  2. Create a new partition in the unallocated space. Apply the change.
