Help a novice! Can OSS boot an OS from a USB/SD card?
Hello. I am new to the world of multiple boot systems and really new to the inner workings of OSes in general. Here is my situation, I would like to have the option to dual boot between Windows XP on my HDD, and a modified build of Google's Chromium OS stored on an SD card in my machines internal card reader. Before buying Acronis, I would like to know if it is even possible to boot from that SD card, or if the OSes have to be on aditional Hdd's or other HD partitions. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for replying, but I do not think you understood my question. I will boot Windows from the internal HDD. However, Google's OS does not support HDD's at all and and will only boot/run on solid state media. I know that the Acronis OS Selector will let me boot windows from the HDD, but will it recognize and boot from an SD card?

Hello Taylor!
I'm very sorry for misunderstanding. I got confused by "SD" naming (usually it means Secure Digital memory card. Solid State drive is usually named "SSD". I'm awfully sorry.
I regret to inform you that even if Acronis Disk Director 10.0 will recognise SSD, it won't recognise Google OS since it is completely different platform.
We haven't tested Disk Director 10.0 with SSD, but you can take a look at our Acronis Disk Director 11 Beta version and test this solution to see whether it will work as required. You can find all the information and download links here.
Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!
Thank you!

Well I finally was able to purchase and install Disk Director 11 and OS Selector the other night. I just wanted to report that you can successfully boot Google's OS from an SD card using Acronis OS Selector. I am using this particular build of the system. After setting up two partitions on my local drive with two XP systems, I booted up again to find that OSS had detected the Google OS on my SD card in my internal card reader. I selected it and it booted up like a charm.
