How to change a parrtition from primary to logical

Thread needs solution

Would like to begin running multiple operating systems; have two partitions on disk 0; both are primary; want to change one from primary to logical.  How can this be done?

Do you have a current backup image of the drive? It's recommended in case there are any problems when making partitioning changes.

To change the partition type:

  1. Start DD.
  2. Select to use the Manual Mode.
  3. Right-click on the partition you want to convert and select Convert.
  4. Then select to change it to a Logical partition.

Is there a specific need for the conversion? If you only have two Primary partitions on the drive, you can still have two more or one more and some Logical partitions.

Partition type changed successfully. Thank you for step-by-step instruction, on my first try I did not see the scroll down option to Convert from Primary to Logical.

I plan to run multiple OSs and in each case store data in a seperate partition from the OS and Apps. and make the system partition primary and data partition a logical partition.
