How to force old Disk Director uninstall?

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I'd like to make a clean installation of DD12 on Windows 10.

Unfortunately the DD12 installation fails due to a previously installed DD (I guess DD10 or DD11).
The Windows 10 deinstaller does not do it's job, it just returns doing nothing.

So my question. How can I force remove previous DD programs?

best regards

Alois

The windows 10 does not do anything.

DD12 installation fails.

Hello Alois,

please follow the steps from the article https://kb.acronis.com/content/40366 to remove the product and its remnants.

Hi Ekaterina,

I could successully remove old installations and reinstall Disk Director 12 without problems.

Just Disk Director 12 does not recognize the disks under Windows 10. I tried to use the latest DD12 version, with same result.

See screenshots and attached logfile.

best regards

Alois

Hi Ekaterina,

thank you for your personal efforts to solve the problem!

But frankly, Acronis completly fails!
As a plain user I have a problem to run a product, for which I payed for.
It does not run on a standard Windows 10 platform.

I have spent too much time to go through useless forum entries, apparently from people with the same problem.

Sorry to say that, Acronis has failed and my conclusion and recommendation is clear. Check for competitors with better products.

regards
Alois

Hello Alois,

sorry to know about your experience with Acronis Disk Director 12! There might be multiple reasons for issues with the hardware detection. If the suggestions mentioned in the referenced forum topics didn't help, we'd recommend raising a support ticket for investigation. For that, we'd request you to install a free trial of Acronis Disk Director 12.5 since the investigation is only possible on the latest product version.
