I have Disk Director 9

Thread needs solution

Hello all, I have Disk Director 9 and I was wondering if there was any issues I should be made aware of using on a newer system. Such as Vista and Windows 7. One question in particular can I (using bootable CD) copy form one SATA drive to another attached SATA (possibly USB but likely SATA cable).

I have been thinking of upgrading but I like how this works with older OS's and it looks like the newer versions only work with XP, Vista and 7.

Thanks in advance.

DB,

DD9 probably won't install on W7, Vista I doubt, XP would be OK.

You might get BSOD's or crashes assuming it would install on Vista or W7 as they require different registry entries to XP.

The rescue CD might work, though whether v9 would have drivers for Sata drives is very doubtful. I would suggest booting from the CD and see if it can see your Sata drives.

Colin,
Thanks for the response and suggestion, I will give the rescue CD a try. I thought it was unlikely to install on Vista or Windows 7 but thought I would double check. And I knew it worked fine with XP, win2000, 98, ME (or at least 98, win2000 and XP, I never actually tried it with ME).
