*Internal data drives not appearing in My Computer after merging partit. and changing primary to logical*SOLVED*

Thread needs solution

Solution:

Unistalled Acronis and Installed Paragon-which identified and fixed my issues easily.

I will never support Acronis again.

Good day Acronis support and forum members,

I am having a problem with Windows 7 64X not showing my data drives after converting them from Primary to Logical. I can see them through Disk Manager in Windows and Acronis DD 12 but not under My Computer.

After reading the manual and help files for Acr. DD 12, I decided to merge some partitions and convert a few data storage drives (listed as 'Primary') in my PC to Logical- attempting to organize my drives. When I first opened Acr. DD 12 some of my extra data drives showed up as Primary drives-even though I have been using them to store data. After reading the Help Files in Acr. DD 12 it seemed to make sense to convert my data drives to Logical ones. I should mention that over the past few years I have replaced my C drive(s) and have been using the 'former' C drives as data drives-which could explain why they showed up as Primary and not Logical drives. Anyway, they were working ok as Primary drives, but after reading the Help Files as for Acr. DD 12 as previously mentioned^ I thought it would make sense to convert the listed Primary drives to Logical drives, since they were only holding data.

I didn't disturb the C drive, so no worries there. My C drive is Primary as can be seen in the attached .png file.

As I mentioned at the beginning of my post, after converting the drives from Primary to Logical I noticed that they did not appear under My Computer. I can see them listed under Acr. DD 12 as well as Windows 'Disk Manager' (accessed by right-clicking on My Computer) as well as Device Manager but they are not visible under My Computer.

I can boot into Windows 7 64x without issue so my C drive (primary partition) is fine.

I have included screen shots as well as an event log file of all the changes I have made. Hopefully it will give you better insight into fixing this issue.

Thanks for your time and I look forward to a reply.

In addition to my above problem, I can no longer access the BIOS. Before using Acronis Disk Director 12 I would access the BIOS by pressing the DEL key when booting and it worked fine...

I am beginning to think that purchasing Acronis Disk director 12 was a huge mistake as I've had nothing but problems. You should really include information in your manuals for the typical 'user' as most of us are not engineers or programmers. Had I known the possible outcomes of merging and changing partitions from logical to primary or vice-versa, I never would have done it!

There are no mentions whatsoever in the manual OR helpfiles about possibly losing access to your drives under My Computer or access to the BIOS.

This is a major oversight by Acronis imho.
