I was trying to move 30gb of free space from D: to C:, and while doing so it gave me an error. When back in windows, both disk management and acronis show C: as having the extra space, but windows does not recognize it, it still sees it as the old space without the 30gb, while the 30gb is gone from D:, so it's completely missing. Any ideas how to get it back without formatting, since this is my Windows partition?

edit: maybe worth mentioning that this was movement across the same physical disk.

Hopefully, you have a good backup.

Usually, you can fix it by doing a small resize on it. Just size it a bit smaller, apply the change, and then resize it back.
