Hello Daniel,

Thank you for your posting! What type of bootable media are trying to create? If it's a Linux based Acronis Bootable Media, you won't need to download any distributions and Add-ons. In case of a WinPE-based bootable media you'll need to have Windows Automated Installation Kit (AIK) installed, because Acronis plugin is added to the native Windows bootable invironment in that case.

Thank you,

I am a purchaser of the full version of Disk Director 12, and terribly disapointed in trying to use the product.

My need is to manage a number of personal Windows 7, 8.1, and 10 machines used in two locations with a vareity of hard drives and SSDs, as well as backup needs.  Reading the promotional material, it seemed that Disk Director would fill my needs.  So far I cannot use it at all.

All of these are personal machines used only by myself.  The first problem is that installing the software on just one machine makes no sense, since it would be used infrequently, if at all, on a given machine.

I have tried to follow the instructions for the bootable media, but find little information on the differences between the Linux and the Windows PE versions.  I tried to construct a WinPE version, and got totally lost on the Acronis and Windows web sites, trying to determine which versions would be needed, for what reasons, and find myself without any useful software at this point.  Trying to determine which WinPE kernel is needed, which AIK, and what are the capabilities of DVDs or Flash drives created in this manner is not at all clear.

Is it possible to simply purchase bootable media with the software already installed?

If bootable media is created with any particular kernel (and is the need for a particular kernel of WinPE inferred form the OS of the machine where WinPE bootable media is created or the OS of the machine on which the bootable media will be used?), what are the capabilities of the bootable media.

Any help will be appreciated.  At present I have no useful software.

Thanks...
