Max size limitation for DD12 Home

Thread needs solution

I have a Plex server with hardware RAID (3Ware 9650SE-16ml) I just spent the last 4 days migrating in additional drives to add space, but now windows will not let me increase the size of the partition to use all the space.  There are other software solutions out there that will let me resize the partiton or resize the clusters, but because the drive is so large, they all require I purchase their enterprise/server solutions to fix it. Is there a maximimum disk size that the home edition supports?  The starting size was 14Tb, and I migrated the array to 23Tb. I backed up all 10Tb that were in use, and I guess I could delete the partition and start over, but seriously, copying back that much data will be tedious at best... so, anyone know if the home edition has a size limitation?

Hello Scott,

There is no size limitation, you can operate with disks/volumes of any size. It is just that Acronis Disk Director 12 does not officially support server operating systems: see "Supported operating systems" at http://www.acronis.com/en-us/personal/disk-manager/. There is a server version of Acronis Disk Director, but 1) its price could be close to what you have seen in other software companies' offers, and 2) it has not been updated for quite a while and supports server operating systems only up to Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 included. Newer server OS are not supported neither.

On a related note, creating a backup was a really good idea. We always recommend doing it before making any changes to disks/volumes to be on the safe side if anything goes wrong during disk resizing/copying/moving etc.

Slava
