MBR Error 1

Thread needs solution

MBR Error 1
I formatted Win, i installed Acronis Disc Director, open it, now i wanted to see information's of my partitions etc, but Acronis didn't want to show me anything, it wrote that disc is not initialized, and if i want to see information's a have to initialize my disc.

I made a mistake, and i pressed Yes, there were two options, i didn't change anything, a left everything by default. The process of Initializing started, and something went wrong, everything just stopped, not responding, and some errors pop up, a didn't have any option a only could restart my comp, i did it. And i received this message:

"MBR Error 1
Press any key to boot from floppy..."

i don't know what to do now, i don't wont to lose my recovery partition. On my disc there are two partitions, on one partition is image of Vista and i can restore my system at any time pressing special Thing button on my keyboard, a cant loose that... other partition is not important for me, on that partition is Win installed

helpppp....

Do you have a backup image that includes the MBR (such as a TI image)? If so, you could restore the MBR from that. Otherwise, you could boot to the Windows installation CD/DVD and repair the MBR (an automatic boot repair might also work).

Help! XP system, restored -> MBR Error 1. Can only boot via the Acronis recovery disc!
Tried restoring earlier backup: same error (it worked a week ago).
Put in another disc: restored -> same error.
Did the Recovery Console FIXMBR, FIXBOOT & BOOTCFG/REBUILD - got message that boot was corrupted, but it seemed to fix it ok. However, on reboot, same error.
Tried wiping the disc (full algorithm and fast algorithm) and restoring: same error.
Tried wiping the disc (ibid) and doing complete windows rebuild from scratch: same error.
Tried restore, then doing repair from distribution disc: same error.
So I now have 2 buggered discs and no system unless I boot from the Acronis Recovery Disc, in which case both work fine.
This is a problem. How can I fix it please?

An Acronis chat with Sunil Kumar Ghiya has localised this problem to being fixed on swapping over the two IDE channels. I am grateful for his help and pleased to (a) have a work-around, and (b) have a problem I can't blame Acronis for - it just happened at the same time.
