Media Builder will not create bootable disk complicated by other problems

Thread needs solution

When I try to create a bootable CD, I get to the "Proceed" command, then get Windows Message that Media Builder has failed and MS will look for solutions and closes the program. MS never finds a solution so you don't know what went wrong.

I supposed there might be an upgrade since I purchased my copy in 2012, build 2343 0. 11. And there was one for Disk Director 11. Downloaded it and tried to install, get a Windows error message: E00640003 . Not helpful. Thinking I might have to uninstall the program before running the update, I try but get message to: Program is corruptly configured. Contact your support personnel.

So don't know where that leaves me. I found I could download an ISO of a Linux bootable and I can hope it works better than the full program, but now I have a corrupt Disk Director 11 full program that I can't uninstall and replace.

Anybody have any ideas? I've looked through the knowledge base but found nothing about this. There is no search function for the forum but I have looked through many of these.

Running W7, 64-bit, 8GB RAM, 1 Terrabyte hard disk with plenty of space, Gigabyte motherboard.
