Merge never ends

Thread needs solution

System: Windows 10, 71-3770 CPU, 8 GB RAM, 480 GB SSD.

I launged a merge between two local healthy volumes (NTFS). The committing operation is almost at the end and there it stucked for 20 hrs now.

Only the task manager is reachable (via Ctrl Alt Delete) All the other application nor the WINDOWS pane in the left down corner is reachable; a kind of "freese". The Acronis Disk directior12 screen can't been minimized. After the time (20 hrs) I try to cancel the operation. That cancelation is stil 2 hrs running when I am writing this masage.

Any suggestions to suggestions to stop without loosing too much?

Any suggestions to do a "better" merge?

I enclosed a screenfoto.

Marine hello,

welcome to Acronis forum!

It is hard to tell now, what caused the issue, so I might suggest to check, that the disk(s) are healthy.

Start CMD as an Administrator and issue:

chkdsk DISK_Letter: /f /r

E.g. chkdsk C: /f /r

The command will check whether there are any errors and try to fix them, when possible.

After that, please try the command again. You can also use bootable media for that. Please check page 53.

I hope, these tips will help you further. If you have further questions, please let me know.
