Moved Win 7 x64 Ult. to SATA drive from IDE. Need to get OSS to boot 'em up...if possible.
I started with a new Motherboard/CPU/8GB RAM(DDR3) and had my tech guy install a copy of Windows 7 x64-bit Ultimate to try everything out that this motherboard can do. I was having an issue, so I thought, with the DIMM4 slot, but I was proved incorrect. Everything seemed to work absolutely fantastic in 64-bit mode. I was so amazed at what an AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE and 8GB RAM can do. I hadn't even gotten to the SLi stuff yet.
Well, all things were not so, "sunshine and lolli-pops", as Win 7 was coming up with 'File Structure Corruption' problems and insistently running Chkdsk (over and over) and wasn't getting corrected. I had Windows XP Pro on the SATA already, but my tech guy didn't want to mess with it, and said I had to re-install Windows XP Pro. I do not know why he had to do it the way he did and he did not explain why Win 7 and XP Pro did automatically make a Dual boot screen, as I have done in the past. So, I did an install of XP Pro that did not destroy everything. It kept my old user account, which was fairly new anyway. I then moved the Win 7 partition successful to the SATA drive and followed the instructions contained in DDS 10. I have Windows Pro going just fine and OSS is coming up like I want it too. Except it does not show Windows 7 in the boot menu.
I need to "attach" Windows 7 to show up in the OSS boot selection and to be able to boot to it. Even if to just see if that clears up the file structure corruption issue. I wouldn't need it to work for too long. It would buy me some time to learn it before I download Windows 7 for myself. My Computer Guy let me use one of his OEM versions for temporary and to prove to me I did not have to return/replace the mobo. If this can't be done, I will end up getting the OS via D/L and a DVD burn. Which I will just format over this one and hopefully...viola! I am running again in 64-Bit mode.
I am looking at MudCrab's guides, but because I "moved" this OS partition over to the SATA, I thought there might be other issues those guides may not address. (MudCrab really helped me last year, so, I am seeking him out, if he is available)
Thanks for any intelligence on this out there.

PS: In the uploaded pic, "Windows XP Professional (English) (3)" is the one I am using that gets me in. I don't dare selete anything yet. Wish I new the references to 'where' on the drive [disk(x)rdisk(x)part(x)=] stuff. :-)
