Multiboot & OS Selector & young kids - how do i avoid deletions
I am hoping that this is the correct location for doing this. i know that part of my problem can be solved by using ADD (i have version10) OS selector with passwords enabled. Currently i am running 1 version of XP pro SP3 for the entire family to use. i will first explain my setup requirement or how i would like it set up.
i would like to use ADDv10 with OS selector, running 4 copies of XP Pro SP3 off of 4 different hard drives each containing more than 1 partition
HD1 - HD1-P1 - personal - clean
HD2-P1 - personal - testing
HD3-P1 - spouse
HD4-P1 - KIDS (ages 4-8)
PS. although i am referring to the KIDs in the below, the same holds true for my spouse. so please do not respond with ethical/moral issues about unauthorized supervision of kids using computers. I am not concerned about what the Content they view on the net is as i have that protection in place.
my concern is that thte kids/spouse download and install junk software, and then the entire computer has to be restored, leaving me to backup all my personal stuff that is stored in the system folders (i.e. email, system settings, google earth, etc).
Now i know that i can set it up like this and set each operating system to be password protected so that the kids can do their games, and my 4 year old can hit the keys to satisfy himself that he is working on the computer just like the big kids. then when their version of the operating system comes to a halt, because they have installed something they should not have, then i do not have to do a restore of my computer.
the above is the easy part.
here is the trickier part.
what do i do, so that these little critters, can not alter in any way shape or form, "anything" on any of the other hard drives. So that if by accident they bring up windows explorer or othe programs, they can not delete/reformat save data, install programs to my hard drive and all its partitions.
any information would be much appreciated.
