Not working on 1TB drive

Thread needs solution

I've worked with both DD and PM for a lot of years so I'm not new to partitioning. Recently I purchased a new computer with a 1TB HD and Win 7 installed. I hated Win7 but didn't want to delete it. So I bought a new Seagate 1TB HD and a copy of XP Pro. I formatted the disk with XP and installed, then I installed DD and tried to partition the drive. Everything acted fine yet the drive was never partitioned. I repeated this operation 3-4 times and every time it showed successful but yet no partitions.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hello Michael,

Let me resolve the issue.

As I understand, you've applied some changes to your drive, then rebooted your PV and nothing was changed? If so, please try to temporarily detach any USB storage device that is plugged in. Perform the operation with the USB storage device detached.

If you have an inbuilt card reader, then disable it through Windows Device Manager:

  1. Hit Win-R to get to the command prompt;
  2. Type in devmgmt.msc and hit Enter;
  3. In the Device Manager window locate your card reader (it probably starts with letters SD, MMC etc);
  4. Right-click on the card reader and select Disable.

Also, as a workaround, you can try performing the same operation from Acronis Bootable Rescue Media. Check Chapter 9 of the User's Guide for more details.

Please let me know if the issue still persists.

Thank you.
