OS Selector 11 Home does not see DVD drive on Win 7

Thread needs solution

I have recently installed Disk Director 11 Home on my Windows 7 64-bit HP computer. I have created a new partition (J:) for Win XP 32-bit to be installed on. So far, so good. The problem is that when I attempt to use OS Selector to load a new OS from the boot disk, the third option (to load from the CD/DVD drive on E:) is grayed out. What do I have to do to activate the third option?

Lawrence,

If OSS doesn't allow you to use the DVD drive, you will need to install XP manually. Just use DD to configure the partitions how they need to be (which one is Active, which are hidden, etc.) and then boot to the XP CD and install it. When it's done, you will need to reactivate OSS.
