OS Selector - No USB mouse support?

Thread needs solution

It seems OS Selector is not recognizing my USB mice. I have tried two and they both are not working. They both work fine in the BIOS and Windows 7. I have a P8Z68-V Pro mobo. Legacy USB support is set to enabled in the UFI BIOS. The keyboard works fine in OSS.

How can I get the mice to work in OSS?

BTW, my mice and keyboard work in the bootable DD 11 interface no problem. I am also using the latest build, Build: #2343. Downloaded ISO directly from the website.

You may not be able to get the mouse working. A lot of people (myself included) have problems with the UEFI BIOS supplied (or not supplied) mouse support for DOS-type programs. This problem is not limited to OSS. Basically, the BIOS doesn't support it correctly. I think they just get it working in the BIOS and then stop. On my system, I get the mouse cursor and clicking works, but I can't move it.

Ok Thanks. I just find it tedious now using the keyboard to do everything in OSS.

I dont understand how mouse function in DD works but not in OSS. Does DD load additional drivers?

DD is running in Linux and isn't using the BIOS for the mouse or keyboard.

When the mouse doesn't work in OSS, I usually use the Windows version to do most of the changes/tweaking. Basically, only do the part that can't be done in Windows when booted to OSS.

Ok, I have 3 disks setup. I have installed OSS on the 2nd HDD in a 500MB partition. My OS is install on the 1st disk. OSS is activated and working with my one OS installed (used bootable CD). If install OSS in Windows, will it recognize that it is already installed on the 500MB partition or will it install its files on the OS install/partition on the 1st disk.

Thanx. I will ask ASUS directly to see if they provide a fix for this...maybe in a future BIOS update.

I have the same problem of Mclovin50. On a PC Asus “All-in-One” ET2400EGT I installed first Windows 7 professional. Then, after creating an ext4 partition I installed Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot.
After installing Acronis Disk Director 11 I installed the Acronis OS Selector. Rebooting the PC the screen shows the window of the OS Selector, but I cannot do anything because the USB mouse is not responding. The mouse arrow remains in the same position regardless of what I do with USB mouse. The mouse works regularly on either Window 7 or in Ubuntu 11.10.
I was suggested to enable the USB legacy in the BIOS but to the best of my efforts I cannot find this item in my BIOS (BIOS Type: AMI, BIOS Date: May 26th 201, BIOS ID: 64-1203-000001-00101111-052611 Eaglelake-A1645000, BIOS Date: 05/26/11 11:08:31 Ver: 08:00:14 - 1203). Note that this version of the BIOS is the most update for my PC as confirmed by American Megatrends. Can you help me?
I hope you can suggest a solution, if you cannot please instruct me how can I uninstall the Acronis OS Selector that prevents me from booting any operative system. Many thanks in advance and best regards. Sergio De Rossi - Rome - Italy E-mail: sergio.derossi@tin.it

ASUS is hopefully still working on getting their newer BIOS's updated. They've had quite a few problems in this area lately. Are you sure the BIOS version is 1203? Or is it 2103? Version 2103 for my latest ASUS board finally let my USB mouse work in Legacy mode. With previous versions it did like you describe.

When I look up that computer on their site I only see the 0801 BIOS version, which is from late 2010.

The Legacy USB option should be in the BIOS. You may need to look through each page and possibly each "group" of settings on each page until you find it.
