OSS and Windows Vista setup
With OSS de-installed, after manually booting both Windows 7 and Windows Vista by bringing up DD11 on bootup and configuring the correct partitions to be Active or Non-Active and Hidden or non-Hidden I was able to alternatively successfully boot both Windows 7 and Windows Vista.
After installing and activating OSS from Windows 7 the settings for Windows 7 corresponds to what I had with DD11. I was able to boot successfully into Windows 7 using OSS. But when I looked at the settings for Windows Vista they were wrong, and somehow OSS does not seem to allow me to set them correctly. OSS insists on setting the Boot Partition/System Partition as hidden and does not allow me to change this.
Should I boot into DD11 and change this in order to get OSS to pick up those changes. Will OSS know enough to change things back correctly when I boot Windows 7 ? Syncing DD11 ans OSS appears to be a real PITA.

MudCrab wrote:You ran into a long-standing bug in OSS (one I've repeatedly asked Acronis to fix). When you install or activate OSS you need to make sure that none of the Windows OS partitions are set hidden. If they are, OSS will keep it hidden and not allow you to unhide it (this causes booting problems for Windows). The easy solution is to edit the BOOTWIZ.OSS file and make the correction. I can do it for you if you attach a copy of the BOOTWIZ.OSS file. Otherwise, you can do it yourself (see this link). If you need help understanding the BOOTWIZ.OSS file, see this link.
What a bug ! That is really sad that Acronis will not fix that.
I will boot and unhide both partitions in DD11, then install and activate OSS, and then hide what I need after that from within OSS. From what you tell me that should work so that I can use OSS reliably. Thanks !
