OSS not seeing CD drive

Thread needs solution

I'm trying to install a second OS onto a second partition using OSS. I created 3 partitions using DiskDirector (one with my existing Win7 OS and two blank partitions). The manual says to make the CD drive second in the boot order (BIOS boot order HDD -> CD) and to boot to CD from the OSS selector screen. Well when I boot up my PC The OS selector screen shows the one OS I have install as my only option. I can not figure out how to "boot to CD" There is a "Boot to floppy" option I stumbled on but thats no use. Under the Option settings for OSS I tried with the box for "do not load CD drivers at startup" both checked and un-checked.

I did this years ago with an older version of DD & OSS so I know it can be done, just not sure what I'm missing.

If the CD/DVD drive doesn't show up you can't do it that way. Personally, I never liked doing it that way anyway. Instead, I found it best to do the install manually and then reactivate OSS.

For example, use DD to set the new Windows partition Active and hide the existing Windows partitions (so the installer will only see the installation destination partition). Then boot to the Windows CD/DVD and install it to the new partition. When finished, boot to the DD CD and reactivate OSS. It should find the new Windows and add it to the menu.
