OSS not working with Windows XP
Have Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) and Windows XP SP3 installed on a single 500gb SATA II hard drive, Windows 7 is installed in a primary partition at the beginning of the drive and Windows XP is installed in another primary partition immediately following the Windows 7 partition with no free or unallocated space between the partitions, the rest of the drive is unallocated.
Installed DD11 (build 2121) in Windows 7 (64-bit) and enabled OSS, no problems, did some minor customizing of OSS, restarted the machine and selected Windows 7 from the OSS menu, booted Window 7 and encountered no problems, restarted the machine and selected Windows XP from the OSS menu, Windows XP started booting, before getting to the Welcome screen, got a blank gray screen for 2 to 4 seconds then the machine reset, during restart and in POST, the messages for the first 2 SATA hard drives were VERY slow appearing (much slower when things worked correctly), repeated the restart back to Windows 7 with no problems, tried Windows XP again and got the same results and the reset again.
Disabled OSS and uninstalled DD11, reinstalled the product with a boot manager that I had used before purchasing DD11, it booted Windows 7 and Windows XP without a problem.
Sent an email to Acronis's through their Customer Service & Support page on their website using "Contact Service & Support->Get Assistance->Start Here" a week ago and have not heard anything from them.

Thanks for the reply.
The other boot manager is part of Avanquest's (V-Com) Partition Commander 11 and it's just call the boot manager, no fancy name.
Sorry, a search shows there is nothing "bootwiz" left on my Windows 7 "C" partition. Having remnants of old software installations left behind after I have removed them, has caused me just enough grief in the past. Now, I'm quite thorough removing all traces of stuff that doesn't work for me.
If necessary, I should be able to re-install DD11 and OSS this weekend.

I disabled Avanquest's Partition Commander's boot manager, did a manual restart of Windows 7 and uninstalled Partition Commander using the facilities in Control Panel->Programs and Features. Did a manual restart and installed Acronis' Disk Director 11, did a manual restart and in Windows 7 installed OS Selector and allowed the forced restart. In the restart, the OSS selection menu appeared (it indicated the Windows XP partition was the default, for some reason) selected Windows 7 which booted correctly. Did a manual restart of the machine
In the OSS selection menu, selected Windows XP. As before, the start never got as far as the Welcome screen. After 8 to 10 seconds (my original estimate was not correct) a system reset occurred and during POST, the messages dealing with the first 2 SATA II drives were very slow being displayed. At the OSS selection menu, I rebooted Window 7 which completed correctly. I restarted and in the OSS selection menu looked at a few of the options, while scrolling the upper band sideways from right to left, the machine suddenly powered down. I waited about a minute and then powered it back on, in the OSS selection menu selected Windows 7 which completed correctly (I think).
I tried to have a look at "bootwiz.log" and was told I don't have permission to do so.
I will wait until I hear from you, MudCrab before I do anything more with DD 11.

Instructions on creating a copy of the BOOTWIZ.OSS file can be found here.
In the OSS settings, try disabling the CD-ROM drivers.

I followed your instructions and have attached BOOTWIZ.TXT to this comment.
Regarding the CD-ROM drivers, in the OSS Selection menu under TOOLS->STARTUP OPTIONS, the "Do not load CD-ROM drivers" is checked (a dark spot in the middle of the button)

MudCrab ...
I'm not sure if BOOTWIZ.OSS/TXT got attached. I'll give it another try. If you get 2, my apologies.

In the XP entry, the XP partition was set Active and hidden (should have been Active only). I edited the entry and also set the Windows 7 partition hidden when XP is booted so it doesn't cause a problem.
Try the attached file and see if it works.

Many thanks for your work and help, MudCrab.
That did the trick. There is a BOOTWIZ directory in Windows 7 and Windows XP (which, I assume, there is supposed to be) and both systems now boot as they should. I set Windows 7 as the default system to boot and put a 10 second time limit before it booted automatically.
Your name shall be changed to KINGCrab, at least on my machine,
Thanks again.
