Partition a RAID drive

We can surely partition RAID dirves, but

• within the physical space of one physical hard drive only
• no resizing for dynamic disks is available

There should be no implications for future maniluations of the drive: you simple partition/resize it and continue working.

The version of the product depends on the OS running on the machine you are going to resize.

Should you use Server OS you will need Acronis Disk Director Server 10.0. In case it is a workstation, than Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 should suit you best. These versions are similar, and the only differences are: 

1. Server version doesn't have OS Selector component, which is present in the Home edition
2. Home version doesn't have Command-line interface and Application log

You can test Server's solution as well as the Home one, but please note that trial version of Acronis Disk Director doesn't allow to commit changes. Should you need to test how it works, you need to contact our Sales department directly. In order to do it, please either submit a web request or contact any of Forum Moderators.

Feel free to check Suite and Server User's Guides - it contains detailed information regarding all functions of the product.

I would like to ask you also to pay accurate attention to the fact that you can perform all operation either from Windows or from Acronis Bootable Rescue Media CD, but we usually advise to use bootable CD. You can create is by means of the product (Tools -> Create Bootable Rescue Media) or download the *.iso from your account and burn it onto the CD.
