PROBLEMS AFTER SPLIT PARTITION

Thread needs solution

Hello

I have a hard drive with 3 Partitions:

C: my C drive

D: reserved from Acronis

E: my E drive

Since my C drive was becoming full, I wanted to split some of my E drive's free space & then merge it to my C drive.

I did the split, and Acronis asked for reboot... I clicked OK... but PC wouldn't boot (PC was stuck on "Operation 2/2 50%" and then it would not boot - booted DOS "Shell")... rebooted, pressing F11, changed the boot order, chose C drive, and all ok... PC booted Windows (Vista 64bit) ok...

BUT

My E drive is not accessible at all now...

- when I tried the Recovery Expert, the info showing is as my E drive was before... so I guess not all has been lost... but it won't do anything further to that point.

- I tried the Bootable cd from Acronis as showing here: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/black-screen-after-reboot-durin…

Neither the 'linux' nor the 'Win PE' cds I created work; in 'linux' case, PC would boot via the CD drive, run the Program and then received a message saying "No drives found" (not even C drive...???)... the 'Win PE' disk would not even be created as it was saying can't find the folder (whatever that means...)

So, any ideas on how to save my date on E drive - it is vital for me really!!!

Thank you!!!

Hi,

Some similar discussion that might be of use for your case

[Solved] Acronis Disk Director 12 recovery of "Not Formatted" partition
Recovering a RAW Hard-drive
Accidental format of 500Gb USB drive

In short, if you don't have a backup of your drive, you'd likely need to use one of the third-party tools that can help to recover data from the raw\damaged partitions.

Thank you,
