Problems with partition

Thread needs solution

Greetings!
I have a problem with partition my HDD. I've installed latest version of ADD on clear win7 64bit. When I try to partition HDD in two parts the program doesn't start the operation and says smth like "HDD is occupied, reboot is needed". I do the reboot, launch ADD and see the same message again. How can I solve this problem?
Thanks everyone who have read and answered.
Best regards,
ADD user.

P.S. I'm sorry about mistakes, doing my best in English :)

Hi,

I have the same proble with My Acronis Disk Director. I have a sata disk connected with 2 partitions (NTFS), one for XP and the other for Win 7. I 'm using the dual boot.
In the bios, my HD is configured a AHCI mode.
When I'm booting with the Acronis True Image CD (using Acronis Disk Director), it can't read the partitions !
So is ADD abe to access disk configured in AHCI mode ?

Mikhail,

Try booting to the DD CD to perform the operation to get the Windows reboot out of the way. Please note that it's recommended to create an Entire Disk Image backup before making partitioning changes if the data on the drive is important.

Yann,

Is DD seeing the drives okay, but not the partitions? Or is it not seeing the drives at all?

Normally, DD can see drives in AHCI mode just fine. However, sometimes the Linux drivers don't fully support a system. Does it see the drives properly if you set the drives to IDE mode? Set it back to AHCI before booting into Windows.

Also, are you using the most current build of DD 11?
