Procedure For Resizing C Drive And D Partition

Thread needs solution

Hi,
Procedure For Resizing C Drive And D Partition
A while ago I asked the following,
"I've looked through the user guide but is not clear and doesn't seem to do what I want before I commit.
I want drive C & D to both equal 100GB please explain the procedure. I think I also have whats called unallocated space on drive D how do I include this into the volume space?
See attached screen shot for current setup.
Thanks. "
I received the following response, " You don't have enough free space to do what you want. You would need to remove data from D: until you had at least 45GB of free space. Then use DD to resize D: smaller from the left edge. You can then resize C: larger into the unallocated space between C: and D:.

Note that it's recommended to have a backup of the entire drive before making partitioning changes. "

I've now backed up the entire D drive and deleted the original stuff on the D drive.
When I click on the D or C drive I get the following, see attached, can someone please explain to me what I do next?
Cheers,
Peter.

Resize D: smaller from the left side: In acronis_1, put the amount of space you need to add to C: into the Unallocated space before volume box. This will put the space between the C: and D: partitions. For example, you might want 41.78GB (or something around there) to get enough for 100GB.

Then resize C: larger from the right (acronis_2) to use all the unallocated space.

Apply the changes after each resize so you know each one is done correctly before the other runs. Since you're resizing the Windows partition it's recommended to boot to the DD CD to run the procedures instead of having DD reboot Windows to do it.

After spending most of the day trying to figure out how to take extra space from drive D and resize drive C I found your response above. Wow, very helpful and it did the job.
Thank you!
