Program Stops when trying to reboot

Thread needs solution

Under windows 7 I had to use Acronis 2012 Boot disk program (VPE init) provided by tect support. I upgraded to Acronis Disk Director 12 BUT could NEVER make it work under windows 7.

I upgraded to Windows 10 where VPE init will not work. I thenh tried Acronis Disk Director 12 again but it still would not work. When I click on "commit" the program tries to reboot but I get an error message "Unhandled win32 exception occured in DiskDirector.exe (1024)". When I click on the debugger I get another error message "Unhandled exception at 0x6E0154BB (msvcr80.dll) in Disk director.exe".

Can anyone help?  I'm afraid to try an upgrade to 16 unless I know it will work for a cloning operation.

TIA

Hello Dick,

I would suggest you to make sure that you have the latest version of Disk Director 12, it is 3270 currently. If you have version 3223, you can download the latest build from your account at https://www.acronis.com/en-eu/my/products/

If this does not help, create a system backup just to be on the safe side, and then open Start menu, type regedit, hit Enter. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager and look at right half of the screen. If you see empty BootExecute parameter there, delete it. See if this helps and Disk Director no longer crashes before reboot.
