RE: Disk Director Suite 10 and Windows 10 BSOD issues with snapman driver

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I have been experiencing BSOD issues with Windows 10 -

*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for snapman.sys<=== Acronis
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for snapman.sys
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for win32k.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for win32k.sys

A kind guy on the Windows forum in checking my minidump files has highlightged that my system is having problems with Snapman.sys and Acronis True Image suggesting i need to uninstall it. I actually have an older version of Acronis Disk Director Suite (10) on my PC and when i try to uninstall it through windows I get BSOD each time so im struggling. the newer cleanup utilities available appear to be for newer versions (or True Image) and dont appear to like windows 10. Any advice or suggestions to uninstall would be appreciated.

Regards

Andy

Hi Andy,

there is a KB for manually removing SnapAPI/Snapman drivers: 1620: Removing Acronis SnapAPI Drivers

Actually it is for some older operating systems, but should work similar in Windows 10.

It is also a good idea to create a fresh backup in case the system will not boot up after removing the driver.
