Resize boot partition Mirrored disk

Thread needs solution

Hi,
Running SBS 2003, boot drive is on a mirrored set that has three partitions: C: E: F: . I need to re size the C: partition to gain more space since B&R 10 SBS took up so much space. There is plenty of room on E: and F: . My question relates to the Raid 1 mirrored setup. Will I be able to perform the re size operation with the current configuration or do I have to break the mirrored set first?

Thanks,
Mark

As far as I know, you should be able to do it on the RAID setup (I've never tested DD on SBS).

It's recommended to create an Entire Disk Image backup before making partitioning changes.

Thanks for the reply. I've already run Acronis Backup and REcovery 10 Adv server for SBS. It's funny but that's what created the need to resize the partion. After the install of B&R I don't have enough room to run SP2, hence the need to resize. The reason I was asking is that in the users guide for DD it has a note about the system disk not being able to be resized on dynamic disks. I'm not sure if raid 1 qualifies as a dynamic disk or not. I was hoping someone who has done this would know if it would work on SBS.

Does Disk Management show that the RAID 1 drive is configured as a Dynamic Disk? Just being RAID 1 (or any other RAID level) doesn't make it a Dynamic Disk.

What version of DD are you using?

I haven't purchased it yet, just doing the due diligence before even trying. I might try the trial first since the total size of the mirrored drives is 70 gig and I think the trial will handle 100 gig (?). I'll check with disk manager to see what the status is. Thanks for the information.

Checked with disk manger and they are all basic disks. I just assumed they were dynamic due to the mirroring, fooled me. Thanks again for the advice.
