Resize Operation Failed, now Windows only sees the available disk as to what I wanted it to be.
Hope this is the correct Forum, I am using Acronis Disk Director 11 Advanced Agent (build 11.0.12077).
Here is the scenario, I have a server that for some reason has only 1 Volume. It hosts both OS and Data for the company. I did a Resize on the drive to down size it to be a 90 GB partition, then I did a second task of turning the available space into another Volume.
The server rebooted and the screen displayed an error that the resize operation failed. The server booted to windows with errors about Active Directory and ect. It said to do a Chkdsk, so I rebooted and did a Chkdisk, then the server came up clean after repairing some errors.
Now windows only sees a 90GB partition, Acronis sees the the whole 270GB+ partation, and I still have no extra volume that I can assign a letter to.
Any thoughts? I have tried to do another Resize Operation with out adding a volume and setting the size to 100GB, and when the server came up, it stayed at 90GB.
Im at a lost.. any help would be appreciated.

Mark,
Sorry for the late reply. Your suggestion worked :) . At first I had an issue that it was trying to boot then say Media Failed, but I was pressing F11 at the BIOS screen so it couldnt load the Raid Drivers. Once I set Priority to the CD rom drive, it loaded the Raid Drivers and booted into Acronis.
I was then able to REsize the partition, then Create a Volume. Booted up Windows and the Size and New Volume is shown.
I guess my lesson is, do One Action at a Time with Acronis.
Thank you again!

Sorry to Hi-Jack, I have a similar problem. I used the same version of Disc Director to resize and downsize my partition C:/ by 4GB leaving 18GB capacity.. An dedicated that 4GB to D increasing the partition to 34GB.. It requested restart to complete but on boot up it threw an error at 66% off the task complete claiming a hard disk etc error press Enter to reboot. I don't think they're hard disk errors I did a full complete fdisk and repair check last week.
After I rebooted my D:/ which hosts 'My Documents And Settings' has been left RAW without a file system so nothing shows on the drive an I can't load up programs like system restore, Disc management and my profile's all screwed up due to it was hosted on D which is now no longer their.
I have a back up of my partitions on a .Tib file (20GB) stored on a separate partition but on the same hard disk.. I don't think it's possible to restore/recover as it's stored on the same hard disk.
I have another .Tib file (10GB) stored on my desktop.. I had a home network setup between the two and use Ethernet cable which I'm not sure will now work ?
What's the quickest way to resolve this ? Thanks.

Stacey:
You can restore from your .tib file that is stored on the same disk but on a different partition.
