Unable to reinstall Disk Director 11 Home due to some Registry key error

Thread needs solution

Something scrogged my Disk Director 11 Home when an update was being applied. So I tried to uninstall, which failed due to some 2356 error. I disable all Acronis services, yet error still occurs.

So I obtain the TrueImage Cleanup utility and clean by DD and TI from my system. This is verified by absence of all files and folders and a successful completion of the utility execution.

I then run the Disk Director 11 Home installer as Administrator in Windows 7 and now get some "Unable to open Key" error related to a key under the Installer Hive in the Registry.

When I seek support, I learn I must now pay to obtain support for a product I PURCHASED because it will not reinstall correctly. What kind of crock is that, give me my money back if the updates are going to corrupt installations or is it a scam to generate more revenue by now charging for support of a product one has already purchased?

This is the how do you do one gets after being a loyal Acronis customer for many, many, many years now!!! So much of loyalty being a 2 way road. The gall is to keep sending me emails to upgrade my TI from 2013 to 2014, for what to receive NO SUPPORT for THAT TOO?

At this point if I can not get the issue resolved, I am ready to turn to another vendor for this functionality who is willing to support the products they sell.

I've tried to search the KB and forums, but the search engines ability to provide meaningful results also appears to be unable to provide accurate results either. Hmmm, another way to frustrate (tick off) customers in hopes of getting them to pay for support perhaps?

Has anyone else run into this issue and if so how did you resolve it, if you were able to resolve it without going elsewhere?
